Deep-sky objects
Each question names a Messier object, and you tap it on a chart of the real sky, first among the symbols of a printed atlas and at the last level among the stars alone.

The sky-map round often asks for Messier objects to be marked on a chart, and a printed atlas draws them with symbols: an ellipse for a galaxy, a circle with a cross for a globular cluster, a dotted circle for an open cluster, a square for a nebula and a small circle with four spokes for a planetary nebula. A tap counts when it lands on the right symbol, or at the last level within a few degrees of the object. After a miss the chart rings the object and gives a hop to it from a bright star nearby, and every object you are asked about comes back in later rounds by spaced review, more often if you missed it.
